Island life

View from cable car 1: Beautiful sunsetHad an overdose of Sentosa this weekend. Yesterday was the fellowship's games day. Heavy downpour forced us to spent the entire afternoon at the Ferry Terminal playing games. Our spirits were not dampened, however. All of us had at a lot of fun, especially with the nuts on the ground. Ended the day with a breath-taking cable car ride back. Kudos to Krystin who secured the tickets for us at a discounted rate. If only there was a fourteen-seater cable car, the entire group could have sat in it.

Went back again this morning to do a swim and a run. Managed to complete the course within 25 minutes. Not very fast. Hope to do better next time round. NUS Legs and Paddles and NTU Vertical Marathon coming up in March. Anybody interested?

Oversight

Question: How do you complete the run in the biathlon if you do not have running shoes?

Answer: Well, perhaps you can just forget about taking part in it this year! Serves you right for not remembering to bring them back from the academy.

1 down, 19 more to go!

Finally booked out yesterday evening. Training was still endurable. Was appointed I/C for the week. Since it was the first week, I had to settle quite a bit of administrative and logistical matters. Was rather busy for the entire week. My appointment ends next week. Yet, I have a sneaky feeling that I will be appointed again in future weeks after all of us cleared the first round of appointments.

Evolution?
Was appointed to be the chairman for two committees too. Both are "event" committees and not "ongoing" committees. However, my first event comes two weeks later. Have to organize an "Induction Night" to welcome my colleagues who will be joining us two weeks later. The other committee I am chairing will be organizing a End-of-Residential-Training celebration. Hope my previous working experience can be harnessed.

The World Today in History
On Feb. 11, 1945, President Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Soviet leader Josef Stalin signed the Yalta Agreement during World War II.

The road is long, with many a winding turn

What lies after the bend? Going for my residential training tomorrow. Hope the coming week will pass smoothly. Time to stop slacking and work hard.

Spent the past few days with friends from YT and CBC. Fruitful days, I must say. Got to know more about them. Went to a lot of places. From HarbourFront to Pasir Panjang to Woodlands to Bedok to Orchard to Changi Board Walk. What an amazing journey it has been. Was on a photo snapping spree as well, although the quality of the pictures turned out to be poor and without much artistry.

Back to training. Will be gone for the next five days. Most probably will not have any access to any computer. So no Mapling, emailing, MSN, blogging till next weekend.
